Turun Osuuskauppa (TOK)
S Group is a cooperative company composed of SOK and its subsidiaries as well as 21 regional cooperatives and 8 local cooperatives. The co-op members own the cooperatives. The purpose of cooperatives is to produce services and benefits for their members through business operations.
Turun Osuuskauppa (TOK) is a regional cooperative, which is owned by its local members. Turun Osuuskauppa’s mission is to produce services and benefits for its over 123,000 members. As a regional cooperative, TOK is committed to continuously maintain and develop its regional services. TOK operates in following business areas: grocery stores, department stores, service stations, hotels and restaurants, incl. over 60 places of business and over 2,300 employees.
Turun Osuuskauppa was founded in 1901. The founders wanted to guarantee the availability of products and services for its members. Decisions were able to be made by members and profits were able to be used for the best of cooperative and its members. TOK’s mission has stayed the same over the decades, and its core mission is still to produce services and benefits for its members.
